A windy but wonderful day on a stunning Cornish clifftop!Read more
Polhawn Fort is a truly amazing venue located at the top of a cliff in Torpoint. Unfortunately for Sally & Alex, storm Hannah raged in over night and although the day was mostly dry, their plans for an outdoor ceremony had to be shelved due to gale force winds! Luckily the inside of Polhawn Fort was just as romantic a backdrop, and with all the bunting and fairy lights, it made for a truly magical day!
I absolutely adored Sally & Alex’s approach to their wedding, which was to be as chilled out about about the wedding. Even the change of weather plans didn’t bother them! They decided to walk down the aisle together and featured loads of gorgeous dogs (their own dog Freddie definitely stole the show).
The rest of the day was filled with food, booze and laughter. I loved that their canapes were mini Cornish pasties and scones. Very fitting! The DIY bar was a great success as well as guests could help themselves and mix up some cocktails.
After the wedding breakfast, it was the perfect light to head down the cliff side to the beach for a few photos. Sally came with a blanket and wellies and handles the cold wind amazingly well but I really loved the windswept look! It was the perfect moment to just give the two of them some time to themselves to let it all sink in.
It was a really beautiful, relaxed wedding day!
