A totally unique and fabulous wedding day in the heart of Somerset.Read more
Paul and Jo’s wedding day was so great as it was just totally “them”. It was amazing to see how much they adored each other and could barely keep their hands off each other all day!
As it was all in one place, it was a really relaxed start to the morning with both Jo and Paul getting ready in the barns in the courtyard. Their wedding ceremony was very sweet and lovely, and again you can see just how much their beaming! They said their vows in front of the glass windows overlooking the lakes, so it was really beautiful to watch.
My favourite part of the day was after the traditional ceremony, when all the guests headed through the fields to the large oak tree, where their friends conducted a sand ceremony. This is a lovely personalised wedding ceremony where everyone can say exactly what they want, and at the end each couple pours sand in to a vase, to show how their love is inseparable. It was really meaningful.
The rest of the day was very chilled out, with drinks in the gorgeous grounds of Quantock Lakes, and the wedding breakfast in the marquee. I particularly loved the whisky themed table names.
For their couples wedding photography, I lead them around to a few spots but just tried to let them be them. When you’re having your photos taken away from your guests, it’s normally just lovely to spend a little bit of time just the two of you so I just try to capture that. The swing in the old oak tree made for great wedding photos too!
The evening party kicked off with a ceilidh band, and there almost wasn’t enough room for me to stand as almost every one of their guests was keen to get up and have a dance! Outside there was also a fire-pit and marshmallows for anyone who fancied a bit more of a relaxed evening.
It was just the perfect day!
